Amazon plant faces Spotify with unlimited music for 9.99 euros

The application comes to Spain, France, and Italy with a catalog of more than 50 million songs.

Amazon has launched in Spain, France, and Italy its service of music on demand Amazon Music Unlimited, which allows access to a catalog composed by more than 50 million songs for a price of 9.99 euros per month, as announced by the company in a statement.

The new streaming music application from Amazon, which is available on Tuesday for devices Fire, iOS, Android, web, PC, and Mac, comes to Spain with a “complete” catalog, launch promotion for Prime members and a bet for the personalization of the content.

With this launch, Amazon will compete in Spain with other on-demand music platforms such as Apple Music or Spotify, which also offers access to its catalog for a price of 9.99 euros per month.

“We are very pleased with the welcome that Amazon Music Unlimited has had in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany, and we are pleased to be able to offer this same service to our customers in Spain, Italy, and France,” said vice president of Amazon Music, Steve Boom.

Amazon underscores that its streaming platform offers a “full musical repertoire,” featuring best-selling artists such as Shakira, Pablo Alborán, Los Planetas, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Katy Perry, as well as great classics such as Mecano, Alaska and Dinarama, Elvis Presley and David Bowie.

Subscribers can choose songs and specific albums or discover music they do not know thanks to Amazon’s personalized recommendations. Thus, you can access hundreds of playlists and stations carefully selected by Amazon Music experts in Spanish music. You can also enjoy personalized content, without ads or interruptions, that you can choose according to gender, activity, and mood or by artist or decade.

From the mobile application, users can also download songs, discs, and playlists from the Amazon Music Unlimited catalog on their devices to be able to listen to them without an Internet connection.

Price Plans
On the other hand, the company has remarked that although the streaming music platform is open to any user in Spain, members of Amazon Prime will be able to enjoy several offers. In particular, they will be able to access a launch offer for a limited time of 10 euros of promotional credit in their subscription to any plan.

Also, Prime members can benefit from a reduced fee when making a single payment of 99 euros if they subscribe to an annual plan of Amazon Music Unlimited, which means a saving of more than 20 euros throughout the year and is equivalent to a monthly cost of only 8.25 euros.

The company has also created the Amazon Music Unlimited Family Fee, which will allow Amazon Music Unlimited to access up to six members of the same family for $ 14.99 per month. Also, Prime customers can make a single payment of 149 euros for the annual subscription to the Amazon Music Unlimited Family Rate, which means a monthly cost of 12.42 euros and allows them to save more than 30 euros throughout the entire year.

Regarding the application, Amazon emphasizes that it has an interface that gives particular importance to the photos of the artists and the covers of the discs and that is mainly thought “to facilitate the reproduction of the favorite contents of the users and the discovery of new songs. ”

Among the main functions offered by the application is the ‘Home Page,’ which shows the contents selected by the Amazon Music editorial team so that users can keep abreast of the most popular music and content, and ‘Recommended,’ where customers can find personalized music suggestions, selected by Amazon’s recommendation technology.
